Satinated Glass

Satinated glass is an abrasive blasting process to the glass surface using hydrofluoric acid. This process creates microscopic gaps in the glass surface and causes light to be refracted in different directions. That's why our eyes perceive the glass as matte. Acid etching is applied to the full surface.
Its biggest advantage over sandblasted glass is that it does not retain fingerprints and can be cleaned much more easily. It has a much smoother surface than sandblasted glass.
This process can be applied to float glass, colored glass, mirror, extra clear and reflective glasses. Satinated glasses can be tempered, curved and processed in all other glass processes.
